“ Fresh fish, not too expensive at all. Locally owned. They allow smoking in the back room and it wafts into the front non-smoking area. If they're full the waiting area is outside in a makeshift shelter. ”

“ We had a great meal at Asamaru! The Sea Urchin Sashimi (¥3,100) was fresh and creamy, one of the highlights. The Whitebait Rice Pot (¥1,050) needed a few minutes to cook properly at the table, but it was worth the wait. The whitebait was sweet and tender. The Jumbo Whitebait Sushi (2 pieces for ¥1,300) was seriously jumbo, huge and generous! The Medium Fatty Tuna Sushi (7 pieces for ¥3,190) came in thick, big chunks sitting on small pieces of rice, definitely felt indulgent. The Asamaru Special Sushi Set (11 pieces for ¥3,480) offered a nice variety and was a great sampler. We also tried the Crab Miso Pasta (¥1,390), which was creamy with a deep umami flavour. Everything was fresh and tasty, definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby! ”
